BSG Crackpoetry: "Kara", a spoof on "Tyger" by William Blake

Following [info]dionusia's recent brilliant Kara/Lee crackpoetry, I come offering more angsty pilots via William Blake's "The Tyger". It's more fun if you read the original first.

Title: "Kara, the Tyger"
Author: [info]boom_queen
Rating: Implied pilot!sex
Spoilers: Up through Unfinished Business
Summary: Crack-ish Kara/Lee romance and angst

"Kara, the Tyger"

Kara! Kara! burning bright
On New Caprica this night,
What beloved's kiss or sigh
Could tame thy fearless pilot-ry?

In what heated arms or thighs
Burnt the fire of Lee's cries?
In what joy dare he sing out?
Or call for you to join his shout?

And what anguish, & what art.
Could twist the trust within thy heart?
And when thy heart began to wake,
What dread flight? & what escape?

Why tattoo-ed? gone insane?
Out the airlock was thy brain?
Why with Anders? what dread fear
Kept you from a love so dear?

When Cottle came to give grave news
To find meds or your Sam to lose
Did Lee smile your plight to see?
Did he who bore his heart to thee?

Kara! Kara! burning bright
In the lonely camp this night,
What hasty marriage to some guy
Dare tame thy fearless pilot-ry?

Enjoy!

Oh my God. I love this so much I'm adding it to my memories page. I actually think your rendition is better than Blake's (sorry, never been a fan).

Wow, thanks! That's the beauty of crack--you don't even need to like the original to enjoy the spoof. So glad you liked it!

AWESOME! It's been a whole medley of crack!poetry from the Romance period! You have chosen your words artfully-the poem flows naturally and retains the proper rhyme and meter, yet retains the crassness of a fine piece of crack!
I shall gargle it like a fine glass of wine at an elitist wine tasting while wearing a tutu....or something.
I shall save this to memories-under "great crack".

Yay! The balance between the maintaining the flow of the original work and inserting enough random cracktastic tomfoolery is tricky indeed :) I'm so pleased you enjoyed it!

And don't worry, my next crackpoem is from this century: The Love Song of Samuel T. Anders! Should be a blast :D

PS: I friended you. I meant to after your awesome Anders/Lee fic, and I remembered just now. Hi!
